The redneck slip and slide

What do you do when you have a backyard with a steep slope, some leftover plastic from a home project, and a hot summer day? Start a redneck slip and slide!
Lined up, waiting for the action!

Keep the hose in position, and let the munchkins go crazy!

On our last trip to visit the boys' birthmom, she showed us the secret of squirting on some dish soap to make it really, really slippery and fun!

We have done this several times this year, and we love it when the cousins join in!

I love it when they pile up on purpose!

And the best part? Water + soap + exposed skin = redneck bath! Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

We used to use a tarp. It was so much fun. I am almost jealous of the fun they are having, but I think I am too old for that now...

You are hillarious! I think that is a great idea, and the "real" slip and slides are expensive and don't last more than 1 day. Next time try dangling hot dogs from the tree limbs, and then they can eat as they are playing/bathing :)!!!

I can't believe we didn't hang hotdogs in the trees--Merilee that is a fabulous idea! Not only would it kill 3 birds with one stone, but the kids would likely count it as the best day they ever had!
