Six Flags Fun

One of the companies that works with Kydon's company sponsored a family fun day at Six Flags. We were more than happy to have Kydon take a day off work, and go to an amusement park for free! Side note: Jack LOVES this red shirt with stripes. Not sure why, but he goes crazy over it. He tells everyone it is his Auburn shirt. Even though Auburn is orange and blue, something about the stripes make it Auburn. And he loves to pair it with those orange shorts. Whatever, kid!
This is Neeta, one of Kydon's coworkers. She came with us, and it was wonderful to have a little extra help. Abigail loved hanging out with her. She is always interested in new people.

We mostly stayed in the kiddie area, which has very low-key rides, so we really didn't face any lines at all. It was nice to just walk around and walk onto rides. The kids all had a blast.

The only ride that had a line was "Splashwater Falls", where you get in a big boat and go down a hill and everyone gets soaked. We waited for about 40 minutes, which was pretty painful. Abigail was having great inner struggles- she was SO nervous and worried! She had finally decided that she wouldn't go, and I would just crawl through with her and wait on the other side, but just at the last second, she went on it. And once she went on it, she loved it. I love it when they are brave even though they are scared!

After a few hours of rides, we went to the company picnic. They had a lot of good BBQ, and tons of drinks, which were much appreciated by all of us!

They also had face painting for the kids, Aidan got a monster truck on one side and a kitty on the other. Abigail got a kitty with sparkles, and Jack got an Auburn tiger on both sides. I guess to match his shirt. ;)
They also gave away visors, which I very much appreciated, because I had started out wearing a hat, and had it long enough to give me 'hat hair', but I lost it on the second ride- the kiddie roller coaster- it flew off my head!

The food was good- hot dogs, BBQ, chicken, beans, cole slaw, potato salad and ice cream.

They also had a balloon artist, and it was nice because it wasn't all that crowded, so the kids were able to get balloon after balloon after balloon. We usually get swords, but this one was cute in that she also made a holster for the sword that went around their waist! They had a great time playing with them until they would pop, then running for a replacement.

We probably spent almost 2 hours at the lunch- it was so cool and shady, and the kids were having so much fun.

Tweety Bird and Bugs Bunny showed up. Thanks to Grandma, the kids know who they are and absolutely love them! But Aidan did *not* want to be in this picture!
After lunch, we spent a few more hours riding rides, and then we had to go home. It was a great day- I think we all could have stayed well into the night without too much trouble, but it was good to leave when we did and get into bed at a good time!
