What's in a Name

She wants to be Abby. Not Abigail. A-b-b-y.

I'm not really opposed to it. We quite often call her "Abba", which is very close to Abby. But it feels strangely odd to call her Abby. I can't quite get used to it, and I'm not sure I want to.

So far, she has only corrected me once from calling her Abigail. I hope she soon forgets all about it!

I have had different permutations of my name through my childhood-- I think it drove my mom crazy ;)

Jenna has now changed her name to Shudeet. Pronounced just like its spelled. We aren't sure if its Islamic, Muslim, Hindu, Indian or what. ? It started out as her pretend baby name. Now she tells strangers, "My name is Jenna, but my family calls me Shudeet." It was cute for a while, but now she corrects us all the time and I'm starting to insist on Jenna again. Atleast Abby is a form of Abigail. Weird kids, huh?
